Our drills and scenarios combine the fundamentals of marksmanship with basic tactical principles. We use a building block approach and train in a methodical manner to promote tactically and technically correct techniques. Our focus is upon the armed protector’s ability to make good decisions and prevail during a critical incident. This is accomplished through self-control, being able to make your equipment work, and performing under duress in a populated environment such as a school, church, restaurant, or other public setting. Instruction includes dry technical work as well as considerable live-fire range work. This course is suitable for anyone who has a solid base for safely handing a firearm and who wants to take their skills and abilities to a higher level and be able to perform properly in an emergency. Participants should be in good cardiovascular health and capable of performing moderate aerobic activity with regular breaks given. Tactical concepts and motor skills include:

Prerequisite Skills: All skill levels are welcome, but this is not a course for someone who is not familiar with how to operate their pistol in a calm and controlled manner. Speed is not a requirement, attention and attentiveness to detail, safety, range instructions, and others who are training with you absolutely are!
Safety Note: for range safety and training in proximity of others, only belt-mounted/attached holsters will be allowed. Both external (on belt) and IWB holsters are acceptable. Your holster must completely cover the trigger guard. No cross-draw rigs. A good supportive belt is as important as the holster! We will cover a lot of ground in 2 days and you will be doing considerable work from your holster. It is wise to bring a back-up firearm, holsters, and gear in case of failure or breakage. This is also a good idea if you are using new or unproven gear.

I absolutely loved this course. Todd and the other instructors put together a comprehensive training experience that was well worth my time and money. I have been to a plethura of different handgun courses and trainers but Todd’s course “Pistol Camp” contained many drills and concepts that I not seen before. I was particularly fond of Todd’s willingness and capability to conduct a number of skills and drills that many other instructors shy away from. He sets the tone on the range. This is a great course to get your skills up. I look forward to taking it again.

I am a member of our church’s security team, but I am not an officer of the law or former military. I have attended this two-day training camp, three years in a row. The second year I brought with me my 18-year-old son and the third year I brought he and his brother who is 16 years of age. Todd and his team are very respectful of all ages, and they have the drills set up in such a way that they can take someone willing to learn but with limited skills to someone that knows and operates their weapon with proficiency and confidence. I would highly recommend this two-day camp to anyone who has limited skills with a handgun. One word of advice prior to attending would be to do 10 minutes of dry practice 3-4 times per week for several weeks prior to the camp, you will get much more out of the camp. Ki Fanning

Todd and his fellow coaches host a top notch class. I have had the privilege to attend multiple classes including the pistol class and a rifle class. Every class has challenged my knowledge and abilities. Safety is always the priority, followed by accuracy. As long as you can safely operate your weapon, Todd’s classes will accommodate a novice shooter to a professional. Plan on shooting a lot of rounds down range.

This training is a MUST for any gun carrier, regardless of prior training & experience. There are lots of instructors & training classes out there to choose from, but you will not find any more worthy of your time & money.
